Welcome, Georgia.

Thanks for having me, Terri.

I’m excited to have you. How did you get started? What led you down the path that you’ve been traveling?

I always share with people it’s the mess in my message. I went through some hardships in life. I was one of those people that were searching, trying to find my way. What is it that I should be doing with my life? What should I be doing with my time? It was at a low point in my life where I started to transition from trying to figure out what I was good at and how I could turn my passion into profits. It was at that moment I realized I had something to offer. It was going through that journey of overcoming the obstacles and saying, “I can do something different.” I remember dealing with my jobs and saying, “Should I leave this job? Should I stay here?” A lot of people struggle with the transition and making huge decisions, but you have to make a decision for something to change. I made that decision and I said, “I had to set up an exit strategy of how I was going to transition to turn what I love to do into something full-time.” I put a plan in action. That’s how I was able to do what I’m doing now.

I love that you share that and I love that you said, “I put a plan in action.” A lot of people think you can sit around, Law of Attraction, feeling it, believing it, and it’s going to happen. Georgia’s telling the truth. Right at this point in your career, what’s your big mission? What’s your big goal? I know you’ve been a guest speaker. I know you’ve been published everywhere and interviewed everywhere. What is your message? What is it that you want the world to hear?

I always say my mission is to transform minds and to change lives. I’m always out doing the speaking, doing the lecturing, doing the talks. When you go out as a motivational speaker, you get people pumped up and ready to go, but then you leave, what happens to those people? It’s like they’re pumped up for the moment, but then what’s the next step? I’m so excited that I have a course that they can take, which is entitled How to Turn Your Passion Into Profits. It’s like my journey, my struggles, my setbacks, my challenges, my obstacles, and how I overcame all of those things. It’s not just mindset, it’s also figuring out the different steps you need to take and following your intuition. Knowing when to do this, when to do that, when to move left, and went to move right. I’m going to be able to do this with this course.

Transform minds to change lives. Those words are valuable. It’s interesting as I meet people more and more, some people think, “It’s changing my mindset and everything changes.” Some people think, “It’s taking actions and everything changes.” It starts with the inner game. Transforming our thinking and then doing what you said earlier, having a plan. We’re thinking differently, and then we’ve got our action plan. You also mentioned also tapping into your intuition. What am I guided to do? What am I lead to do?

You’ve heard of the fixed mindset and the growth mindset. I believe that with so many people out there, they don’t even know that they have a fixed mindset. They continue to do the same things over and over again and they’re like, “Why is my life not changing? Why am I not getting different results? Why can’t I make more money? Why can’t I get paid what I’m worth?” It’s because they keep following that same pattern. The growth mindset is, “Maybe I’m not good at this, but I’m going to learn something new.” When we’re talking about the mindset and thinking differently so that you can do things differently, even if you didn’t have the tools, there’s a way for you to learn different ways of doing things.

With even being an entrepreneur, we’re taught at a very young age do this-this way. You should get married at this time. You should have a baby at this time. You should get your 401(k) at this age. Society has always put rules on when we should do things and how we should do things. It’s more about when you change your mindset. You start to think out of the box. You start to create different creative ways on how you can do things. You don’t have to always do things the way that your parents or your grandparents said. There’s always another avenue to tap into to do different things.

I love the idea of thinking different to do different, which is so true. I remember I was trying to problem solve with someone in my company a while back. We were looking at the same problem over and over again. We couldn’t find a solution and then I said, “We have to do something different. We have to stop thinking the way we’ve been thinking.” Once we came at the approach and we both came at it completely different, playfully different mindsets, all of these wonderful answers appeared. We forget that. Think different to do differently. I am curious, in your viewpoint, how do they learn to tap into their intuition? What if somebody says, “That sounds good, Georgia, but I don’t hear my intuition.” What would you have to say to that person?

One of the things that helped me on that path to digging deeper and following my intuition is meditation. Meditation was probably the best thing that I’ve ever tried. The best thing that ever done in my life. I started meditating years ago. I didn’t realize the power of it until I started to practice it. One of the things that I encourage people, even if you’re not a master at meditating, just starts out doing it five minutes a day. Do it early in the morning between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM or right before you retire at night, maybe between 10:00 PM and 12:00 AM. Try to do it for five minutes because when you do that, you’re looking deeper within yourself. You’re allowing yourself to silence your mind.

When you think about the things that we have to confront daily, the things we are inundated with daily, the internet, your phones, your emails, when you take that time out to pull back from everything and say, “Let me think about what it is that I want to do,” or “Let me think about something that I can improve my lifestyle.” It could be health-related or it could be career-related or it could be relationship-related. It doesn’t even matter. It works across the board, but meditation is what helped me to get on that path.

Transforming The Mindset: Even if you didn’t have the tools, there’s a way for you to learn different ways of doing things.

For years, I try to meditate but I couldn’t meditate. I learned this form of meditation and that didn’t work and then I tried this and that. One day, I relaxed about the whole thing and found out for myself, just sitting quietly and breathing for a few minutes a day would give me incredible presence and clarity. I still do. I get a lot of my answers that way. Instead of, “I have to beat myself up and keep thinking of an answer. What if I breathe and get quiet?” all of a sudden, the inspiration flows. Your expression of how to turn your passion into profit. Let’s say someone’s like, “I either have no idea of what I’m passionate about or I have so many ideas,” where do you guide them? What direction should they begin in with you?

The first step is when you’re talking about passion, your passion is something that you would do for free. That’s how you know that you get because you’re willing to put so much time and energy into this thing, even if you’re not getting paid for it. That’s the first step. Lay all those things out. What are some of the things over the years? You have things that you’re naturally good at, which is your natural abilities, which is your passion, and then you have skills that you may have learned over the years at different jobs that you were at. I teach people how to connect the dots. How to look at your gifts, your talents, your natural abilities, your skill set, and how to tie them together to create a profitable business.

It’s about figuring out, “Will I do this for free?” When you’re in business, you have to have that sticktuitiveness. You have to be able to be ready to go through all the different motions with having a business. Every day’s not going to be great. Everything is not going to go your way all the time. When you are passionate about something, you are willing to stick it out. You’re willing to run that race. You’re ready to get to the end. You’re like, “I can do it. I can make this happen.” That’s what’s going to keep you motivated. You want to be in a business or you want to do something that’s going to keep you motivated.

I was with somebody and they were talking about retirement. They said, “What age do you think you’ll retire?” I looked at them like they had 50 heads and I said, “I can’t imagine retiring. I wake up every morning doing what I love, loving what I do with brilliant client family members. Why would I stop?” I find that when people aren’t in their passion, that’s when they’re looking for an end or a way out. Does that make sense in your world?

Your passion is something that you would do for free. Click To Tweet

There’s an expression I talked about with the misplaced achievers, the successfully discontent and the successful achievers. The three types of people. The misplaced achievers are the people that are on that job and they wait for their retirement. They have so many talents, so many gifts, so many natural abilities, but they haven’t tapped into it so they’re misplaced. You have the successfully discontent. The people that are in a great job, they are making good money but they don’t have that sense of fulfillment or that passion. They may be a doctor, a lawyer, a surgeon. They may be anything. They are getting money but they’re not happy with what they’re doing.

You had the very small percentage of people who were the successful achievers. The ones that get up every day like you and me and say, “I love doing what I do. I get up every morning. I look forward to each day. I don’t ever want to stop. I don’t ever want to retire.” Not just because you love what you’re doing, but because you are impacting other people and you are changing lives. That’s where it becomes profitable. People have to understand it’s not just about money when you talk about turning passion into profits, it’s about changing lives. It’s about making a difference in the world. That’s what I’m trying to share with people.

How and where can people connect with you, Georgia?
