Welcome to the podcast. I’m Dr. Terri Levine. So, I’m going to ask you a question. Are you a business owner who is great at being busy? Busy with social media, email, worrying about marketing, sales, finances and operations, and everything it takes to run a successful business? Is that you? Do you find yourself at your computer, or maybe on your phone, on social media, and email for hours and hours, hoping that you’re going to get some leads flowing in, maybe by posting all over social media, or trolling groups or DMing people? At the end of the day, have you truly made an impact?

Have you truly created influence? And, of course, at the end of the day, do you have income rolling in? At the end of the day, do you have more qualified leads, more sales, more revenue? Are you wasting your life away, hoping, praying that some method that you see on social media, or some course, or some kit you buy is going to have a magic bullet that you seek? Being a business consultant, a life coach, positive psychologist, and clinical psychologist, I do understand that without knowing what I call the 4D formula, and without following a structured and focused plan, not only can you lose control of your business, you can waste your time, money, and your energy, only to discover that, each day, you’re moving further and further from living the delicious life that you desire and that you deserve.

When I was president of a national healthcare company, I was tired of not having the freedom to focus on my family, my health, my friends, my spirituality, my community, and my well-being. I was working too many hours. Constantly on planes, in meetings, and I really started to wonder, “What is my purpose on the planet?” That was over 30 years ago. I quit my job and I started my consulting and coaching firm, and I’ve never, ever, ever looked back. Yet, being transparent, I ended up working more hours building my business and letting all other areas of my life sit on hold.

And, after six months of doing that, I realized I created nothing more than a job, and I was trading time for money as I worked with clients on an individual basis. So, I went back to a formula that I have been teaching to my corporate clients and staff that I had abandoned in my own business. And today, I’m sharing the formula with you because my client family members all find they have more time freedom, less stress and overwhelm, and they can focus on building a great life, a life by design. And that their business then fits into their life and not the other way around. So, these are writer downers. The four Ds are; do, defer, delegate, and delete.

Do, defer, delegate, and delete. When you quickly and decisively look at your tasks and projects, and you put them into one of these categories, it helps you manage your limited time more effectively and stay focused on what matters to you. Email, snail mail, calls, projects, blogs, podcasts, content creation, social media, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, put them all in a category so that you can start to get focused on what truly will move the needle. Let’s use a real client family member as an example. I’m going to call the client Sheryl, I’ll change her name here. So she came to me overwhelmed, confused, and sick of trying every new marketing gimmick.

She hated cold DMs, and she loved the Heartrepreneur concept of doing business heart to heart. Yeah. She spent hours each day on social media hoping, I don’t know, somehow that was going to help land on more clients. She tried imitating people that she saw on social media, and what they were doing. And yet, spending hours and hours, no income was coming in, or very limited income from all that wasted time. She came to me and she said she was frustrated, she felt nothing was working, and she was wasting hours of her time and energy on ineffective ads on social media.

Her family barely spent time with her, her health and relationships were suffering, and she also told me she had sleepless nights and really was concerned for her business. So, she came into our promising profits program. She had an open mind and a sense of curiosity. The first week, I only had to make one change; social media was limited to 20 minutes a day. It’s a tip, that’s a clue. And she could not touch electronics at all until 10 A.M. That’s it. First thing in the morning, she worked on the one priority goal that we set up that would actually, through reverse marketing, bring prospects to her.

The rest of the day, she had just simply placed each activity into one of the 4D buckets. At the end of the week, she reported that she had two extra hours each day to focus on her life versus her business. I want you to create your own delicious life. The one that you desire, and have not been living. The one where you’re hidden life goals and priorities are sitting before it’s too late. Making the shift from building your business and forgetting about your life, and living your life by default, that needs to end. If you’re ready to have more time, freedom, to truly live your best life and live it by design, and to create more income, influence, and impact, then I am here for you.
