Hey there, it’s Dr. Terri Levine, and welcome back to Digital Marketing for Coaches & Consultants. You might notice that in the background it’s pretty light, right? Why? Because part of the year I live in Mexico, and so there’s sunshine behind me even with this virtual background. And I wanted to talk to you today about mastering the art of financial freedom. I have a lot of freedom in my life. Not just financial, also my ability to live anywhere in the world, work from anywhere in the world. So, as we’re navigating the complexities of adulthood, one of the most persistent fears that human beings have is this looming uncertainty about our financial well-being.

And this apprehension, I believe, is a significant hurdle that often can deter individuals from venturing into the world of business. Starting a business, it magnifies that fear tenfold, especially when you no longer have the safety net of a stable J-O-B. All right. Fear not, I do have good news for you. Just the way I’ve created freedom living anywhere in the world, working anywhere in the world, and financial freedom, you have the power to create financial stability for yourself outside of the confines of anyone’s traditional J-O-B.

And the key lies in possessing a high-level skill. The ability to craft irresistible offers. And this truth actually reminds me of a powerful lesson, and it’s one that echoes in the corridors of the Shawshank Prison. I don’t know if you ever saw the movie, a pretty iconic movie, actually, called ‘The Shawshank Redemption.’ And in the movie, a banker named Andy, I think his name was Dufresne. He found himself sentenced to life imprisonment for a crime he did not commit. And despite the odds that were truly stacked against him, Andy possessed two critical assets that eventually actually led him to his freedom.

The first was a high-income skill. What he had was an understanding of the banking system and tax codes. And the second one was the willingness and the ability to make compelling offers. I want you to think about that for a minute. Andy’s journey unfolds as he navigates the harsh reality of prison life. His first offer involves paying a fellow inmate to smuggle in tools that would aid in his escape. It’s a very daring move, and it sets the stage for his resilience and his resourcefulness as well. The second offer is more strategic. By leveraging the knowledge of taxes, Andy strikes to deal with the prison guards head, earning favors and protection in return.

And this showcases the transformative power of making strategic offers to navigate even the toughest situations. So, let’s bring this over to the business world. The parallel to me is very, very clear. The ability to make effective offers is a game changer. It’s the linchpin that can transform dire circumstances into opportunities for growth and for success. So, as I’m sitting here reflecting on Andy’s journey, it becomes evident that his survival and triumph in the prison system are attributed to those two skills that I mentioned.

I’m going to repeat them. In his case a high-income skill. His was banking and taxes. And second, the consistent ability to make compelling offers. Now, in my journey as a heartrepreneur, these skills are my anchor. Providing assurance even in the face of uncertainty. While I’m grateful for the success of my business today, I remain aware that fortunes can change unexpectedly. Imagine the worst-case scenario. I don’t know, a zombie apocalypse. What would be my first course of action? Well, much like Andy Dufresne, I’d start making offers to improve my situation.

It’s a testament to the enduring power of strategic offer-making. So, when taking on a new client, so when I embrace a new client family member, I prioritize assessing their current offers and the frequency of those offers. Why? Because at its core, nothing truly begins until you have a compelling offer on the table. And when coupled with a high-income skill, this combination becomes an unstoppable force, alleviating any monetary concerns.
